GRADUATE REQUIREMENTS

Master of Business Administration

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the faculty and dean of the College of Business, or an appropriately certified foreign institution.
  • A 2.7 grade point average for the bachelor's degree used as the basis of admission, or a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) for the last 60 hours of coursework (including graduate work).
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), and 79 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction
  • Completed Application for Admission
  • $50 Application fee (non-refundable)
  • Official transcripts from the institution granting the Bachelor's degree and all postsecondary schools used to calculate the GPA.

Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning, Adult Education and Training, and Higher and Postsecondary Education

  • Official transcripts from all graduate schools attended and an official transcript from the school conferring your bachelor's degree

  • For students with non-MBA degrees, the student needs to have graduate level courses in the following areas:

    • Finance
    • Marketing
    • Statistics

Doctor in Education in Educational Leadership, and Teaching and Learning

  • A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the faculty and dean of the College of Education, or an appropriately certified foreign institution.
  • A grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) in work leading to the master’s degree and in any subsequent graduate study.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), and 79 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction

Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership

  • A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the faculty and dean of the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, or an appropriately certified foreign institution
  • A grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) in work leading to the master’s degree and in any subsequent graduate study.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), and 79 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction
  • Completed Application for Admission

Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology

  • A master's degree in a license-eligible mental health field (i.e. counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy) from a regionally accredited institution or an appropriately certified foreign institution.
  • A grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) in work leading to the master's degree, and in any subsequent graduate study.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), and 79 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction
  • Completed application for admission

Note: Argosy University emphasizes the importance of an applicant having met local licensure/certification requirements as a counselor/mental health provider. The EdD in Counseling Psychology does not lead to a licensure/credential as a provider of counseling services and should not be seen as preparation for entry-level practice.

Doctor of Education in Community College Executive Leadership

  • A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the faculty and dean of the College of Education, or an appropriately certified institution.
  • A grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) in work leading to a master's degree and any subsequent graduate study.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), and 79 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction
  • Recommendation from a community college leader, or provide evidence that demonstrates leadership or potential leadership in a community college setting.)

  • A grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) in work leading to the master’s degree and in any subsequent graduate study.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), and 79 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction
  • Completion of an interview with a member of the program Admissions Committee.

UNDERGRADUATE REQUIREMENTS

Admission Requirements

Applicants must provide proof of high school graduation or GED and meet one of the following conditions:

  • ACT Composite score of 18 or above, or
  • Combined Math and Critical Reading SAT score of 870, or
  • Minimum High School or College GPA as follows:
    • For students with 12 or less college credits, cumulative High School GPA of 2.0 or above
    • For students with 13 or more college credits, cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or above

Admission on Provisional status

Applicants who do not meet the above conditions for admission will be assigned "Provisional Status" in accordance with Argosy University policies regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress. If admitted on provisional status, students will have a maximum of two semesters to meet the standards for academic progress. A student assigned Provisional Status is eligible for financial aid.

Other Admissions Requirements

  • Remedial or developmental courses are not transferable.
  • Proof of high school graduation or earned college degree.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of or 500 (paper version), 173 (computer version), or 61 (Internet version) is required of applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction.

Placement Policy

Math Requirement

All students must complete a math placement test in their first semester of study. Students who establish competency through testing will register for one of the college-level mathematics courses to fulfill the General Education mathematics requirement, unless they have transferred in sufficient math credit. Students who do not demonstrate competency must register for, and successfully complete MAT096 Mathematics Review I in their second semester of study.

Writing Requirement

Writing competency is essential for successful completion of any coursework at Argosy University. All students complete a writing placement test in their first semester of study. Students who demonstrate competency through testing will register for one of the college-level English courses to fulfill the General Education English requirements unless they have transferred in sufficient English credit.

Developmental Coursework

Students whose placement test scores are below the established cutoff for both Math and Writing may not register for any other coursework in subsequent semesters until the developmental coursework is successfully completed. Students whose placement test scores are below the established cutoff in only one area (Math or Writing) may also register for other coursework per the following policies:

MAT096 Mathematics Review Policies
